More info: Our telemetry indicates that impact was intermittent. In most cases users could connect to the service, but may have continue to receive credential prompts.

Final status: We've confirmed via service telemetry that reverting a recent CAFE infrastructure change has successfully prevented users from incorrectly receiving credential prompts.

Start time: Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at 8:45 AM UTC

End time: Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at 11:00 PM UTC

Preliminary root cause: A recent change to Client Access Front End (CAFE) infrastructure inadvertently caused some users to receive multiple credential prompts.

Next steps:
We're analyzing additional data related to the impacting change to ensure that further issues of this nature do not arise.

We'll publish a post-incident report within five business days.

Identified - User impact: Users may be receiving credential prompts when using the Outlook client.

Current status: We’re reviewing support case data and are also examining service logs in an effort to determine the cause of impact. In parallel, we're working to determine the most efficient path to remediation.

Scope of impact: This issue could potentially affect some users intermittently if they are routed through the affected infrastructure.
